Pittsfield: State Senate candidates to address jobs & poverty


State Senate candidates for the Berkshire-Hampshire-Franklin-Hampden District will participant in a Candidates' Night on "Workers and Poverty in Berkshire County," from 7:30 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at First United Methodist Church, 55 Fenn St.

Rinaldo Del Gallo, Andrea C. Harrington and Adam G. Hinds will respond to questions on jobs, poverty, public utility policy, and other issues affecting working people of Berkshire County.

The event will be moderated by the Rev. Quentin Chin and is sponsored by the ad-hoc Independent Voters Committee, a project of the Berkshire County Workers Benefit Council.

Three Democrats are competing in the Sept. 8 primary for the seat being vacated by Sen. Benjamin Downing.
