Pittsfield: Streetscape construction update, July 11-15


Streetscape contractor Maxymillian will be grading sidewalks from Melville Street to St. Joseph's Church this week. Work will start at 7 a.m.

Excavation of sidewalks and conduit installation will continue on the east side of North Street. The crew will start the week working on the section north of Maplewood Avenue and work north to White Terrace.

Excavation of sidewalks in front of the Greystone Building will begin as early as the end of the week.

A crew will be working in spot locations in the roadway to lower the existing structures ahead of the road milling scheduled to take place late this month.

Varandas Construction will continue installing granite curbing on the east side of North Street from Carson Place to St. Joseph's Church. Sidewalk restoration will take place from Melville Street to Carson Place.

Parking and pedestrian traffic may be disrupted but access to storefronts will be maintained. Pedestrian traffic will be guided by guardrails and drums.

Vehicular traffic will be down to one lane in both directions. Parking in some areas will be affected.

Vehicles will be guided with signs, cones and drums.
