Distance runners Dan Brien and Lauren Farry each won two events, leading their Pittsfield track and field teams to dual-meet wins over Taconic on Friday.

On the boys side, Brien won the 800 meters (2 minutes, 15.02 seconds) and the mile (a personal-best 4:35.25), and PHS swept the 110 hurdles, 800, 3,200, shot put and discus en route to a 91-50 victory.

"It's nice weather today, there's not much wind going on," Brien said. "I felt in a rhythm today. I PR'd [in the mile] by almost 3 seconds."

Farry won the mile (5:50) and 2-mile (11:46) for the Pittsfield girls, who beat Taconic 93-48. The Generals won all three relays, offsetting a two-win day by Taconic's Courtney Luscier.

Luscier won the 100 by a hundredth of a second over Pittsfield's Amanda Wright, just out-leaning her at the finish line. The winning time was 12.8.

"It was tough, because I'm coming back from [a foot injury]," Luscier said. "I knew at the end, I needed to push forward and lean. I think the lean is what made the win."

Wright recovered to win the 200 in 27 seconds.
