AUBURN -- A goal from Sydney Deluce with 10:20 left helped the Pittsfield girls soccer team salvage a 1-1 tie against defending Division II state champion Auburn.

Deluce scored off a Meghan Driscoll assist to cap a strong second half for the Generals (8-0-2). Pittsfield fell behind late in the first half when Erin Scanlon got a ball past Generals keeper Allie Hunt.

"What was good was the intensity in the second half," said Pittsfield coach Andy Waluszko. "They really kicked it in. A lot of the play was down in their end. They dug deep."
