Pittsfield to hold send-off for Berkshire Force 16-U's on Tuesday at City Hall


PITTSFIELD -- Pittsfield will be giving the Berkshire Force an official hometown send-off as the softball team leaves this week to compete in the Babe Ruth World Series tournament in Wilson County, North Carolina.

Acccording to Mayor Dan Bianchi's office, the public is invited to wish the team good luck at noon on Tuesday at City Hall.

"We hope everyone can come out to the City Hall lawn," Bianchi said.

During regional play this past weekend in Pittsfield, Berkshire Force won the New England Babe Ruth Softball 16-under championship on Sunday and clinched a berth in this week's World Series. The team will depart Pittsfield on Wednesday morning for North Carolina. World Series tournament play begins on Thursday.
