Pittsfield: Two Taconic seniors recognized for academic achievement

John Vosburgh, principal of Taconic High School, has announced the recognition of two current senior students for exceptional academic promise and potential for academic success in college.

Cara Partridge has received the honor of Commended Student in the 2013 National Merit Scholarship Program. Commended Students are recognized among top scorers for outstanding performance and placement among the top 5 percent of more than 1.5 million students who entered the 2013 competition by taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Paul Green has been recognized as an Outstanding Participant in the 2013 National Achievement Scholarship Program, scoring in the top 3 percent of more than 160,000 Black Americans entering the 2013 competition among those taking the 2011 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Partridge and Green were presented certificates of honor and congratulations from the principal in October of this year upon release of the information from the National Merit and National Achievement Program Corporation.
