Pittsfield: UPC offering assistive technology workshops

The Assistive Technology Regional Center operated by United Cerebral Palsy Association of Berkshire County is offering late summer and fall workshops on a variety of assistive technology devices.

The workshop schedule follows:

"Tablet Technology and AAC," a workshop on the latest tablet based Augmentative and Alternative Communication devices, from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Aug. 26, at The Association For Community Living, 220 Brookdale Drive, Springfield.

"AccessNSM," 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 9, at UCP, 208 West St., Pittsfield, and 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 14, at The Association For Community Living. AccessNSM provides Stairlifts, wheelchair lifts, vehicle lifts and the other allied products.

"Accent Devices: A Range of Devices to Support Alternative Access," 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Sept. 23, at The Association For Community Living.

"Supporting our Adult Population: Selecting the Best Assistive Technology for the Need," 10 a.m. to noon Friday, Oct. 28, UCP, 208 West St.
