Pittsfield: Vietnam Veterans Day ceremony Saturday


The Berkshire Veterans Coalition will hold a ceremony for the 27 Berkshire County veterans who died in Vietnam at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 29, at Park Square.

The ceremony will be attended by Dalton American Legion Honor Guard Post 155, Marine Corps League Detachment 137, Vietnam Veterans of America James E. Callahan Berkshire Chapter 65, American Legion Post 68, Disabled American Veterans Chapter 15, VFW Post 448, Jewish War Veterans Post 140, Italian War Veterans Post 75, and the American Legion Riders Chapter 1 Post 155.

Francis Tremblay, president VVA Chapter 65, will serve as master of ceremonies. The Rev. Stephen J.C. Williams will give the invocation and benediction. Speakers include Mayor Daniel Bianchi and Willard Losaw. Tyrone Belanger and Tremblay will read the 27 veterans’ names.

The event is sponsored by the Berkshire Veterans Coalition, VVA James E. Callahan Berkshire Chapter 65 and the City of Pittsfield.
