A Vigil for Peace and Hope for All Our Youth will take place at 7 p.m. Sunday, July 17, at First United Methodist Church, 55 Fenn St.

The vigil is sponsored by FUMC and Price Memorial AMEZ Church on Linden Street in response to gang violence and troubled youth in the community.

All persons of any or no religion are invited to come together for a time of songs, prayer, reflection, and sharing.

Local religious, non-profit and civic groups and leaders are invited to participate.

FUMC will announce a $7,500 grant to help fund formation of a youth-led Forum for Youth Empowerment Training and help launch youth-led public advocacy and community service projects.

Information: The Rev. Ralph Howe, FUMC, 413-499-0866 or howerw3@gmail.com, or the Rev. Benjamin Green, Price Memorial AMEZ Church, beng1030@att.net.
