Pittsfield: VOICES theater workshop brings Melville’s characters to life

"Call Me Melville" has announced a special performance by VOICES Theater Company. "Acting up with Melville’s Characters!," a theater workshop, will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6, in the auditorium of the Berkshire Athenaeum.

"Acting up with Melville’s Characters" is for children of all ages as VOICES Theater Company takes the audience on a trip through Melville’s greatest works.

Two VOICES Theater Company actors will be dressed in costumes inspired by Melville’s most prominent characters and will be doing a reading from a children’s version of Melville’s stories, and finish up with theater games including a special "Moby Dick" inspired treasure hunt.

Children under 10 must be accompanied at all times by an adult over 18 years of age.
