Pittsfield: Voter registration, absentee ballot deadlines set

Voter registration deadline for the Nov. 8 State Election is Wednesday, Oct. 19. The Registrar of Voters Office at City Hall, 70 Allen St., Room 101, will remain open until 8 p.m. Oct. 19 to accommodate anyone wishing to register to vote or change their name or address.

Voters unsure if they are registered to vote, or what address they are registered to vote at, are encouraged to contact the Registrar of Voters office before that deadline so they have time to make changes if needed.

Absentee ballot applications and absentee ballots are now available. The deadline to apply for an absentee ballot is noon Monday, Nov. 7.

A registered voter is eligible to vote by absentee ballot if they will be absent from the city on election day, have a physical disability preventing them from voting at the polls, or cannot vote at the polls due to religious beliefs.

The Registrar of Voters Office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Information: 413-499-9460.
