Pittsfield: Ward 5 meetings begin Saturday

Ward 5 City Councilor Donna Todd Rivers has scheduled the first Ward 5 Citizens Meeting, "Conversations with Your Councilor," from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 23, at the Berkshire Athenaeum.

Meetings will generally last an hour except in the event that a special speaker is invited.

The meetings are open to individual residents, community groups and business representatives who want to help shape and improve Ward 5.

The meetings will cover the items on the City Council agenda and citizens are encouraged to raise issues specific to the ward and to share their thoughts on all aspects of city government.

This month's agenda will include discussion on Rivers' joint petition seeking the formation of a study group to look at Pittsfield Municipal Airport's current managerial and budgetary structure as well as updates on recent snow removal efforts.

The meetings will typically be held on the fourth Saturday of each month.

To be informed of future meetings, email Rivers at dtoddrivers@pittsfieldch.com to be added to an email list.

In the event of inclement weather, check for cancellations on local radio stations and on Rivers' Facebook page.
