Pittsfield: YMCA announces Camp Sumner field trips


The Pittsfield Family YMCA announces the weekly field trip lineup as part of its Camp Sumner program. Registrations are open for Camp Sumner’s weekly sessions from June 30 through Aug. 26.

Children entering third through sixth grades, as well as those enrolled in its Leaders in Training program will go on weekly field trips.

Field trips include the Museum of Innovation and Science, Schenectady, N.Y. (July 9); Forest Park Zoo, Springfield (July 16); Bousquet Ski Area (July 23); Barrington Stage’s "Hairspray Jr." (July 30); Mount Tom State Reservation, Holyoke (Aug. 6); The Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame, Springfield (Aug. 13); and U.S. Open, New Haven, Conn. (Aug. 18).

Held at Berkshire Community College, Camp Sumner is available for children ages 5 years to ninth grade; the Leaders in Training program is for students entering seventh through ninth grades.

One-week sessions from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday cost $157.05/session and include before and after camp care at no additional cost. All campers must have a Y membership. Bus transportation from the Y and Allendale and Egremont elementary schools is available.
