Pittsfield: Youth fishing derby at Wild Acres

The Pittsfield Conservation Commission, in conjunction with Lyon Aviation, will sponsor a free fishing derby for youth ages 14 and under from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Wild Acres, South Mountain Road. The event will be held rain or shine.

Bait will be provided, and a limited amount of fishing poles will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Volunteer support will be provided by the Onota Fishing Club to assist with dressing fish, providing fishing tips and techniques, baiting, and more.

Trophies will be awarded in various age groups.

Those who may need accommodations for handicapped vehicle access are asked to call 413-770-2766. Instructions will be provided on how such vehicles can park adjacent to the pond area.
