Police investigating pair of shootings in Springfield


SPRINGFIELD, MASS. >> Police are searching for suspects in connection with a pair of separate weekend shootings in Springfield.

Police say the shootings happened Sunday night. A 24-year-old Springfield man was found with a gunshot wound in the cheek just after 10:20 p.m. The wound is not considered life-threatening.

Sgt. Donald Denault says a man was shot in the shoulder in the city's Forest Park section at around 8:15 p.m. He was taken to Baystate Medical Center with a minor injury.

The victims' identities haven't been released. The investigating is ongoing.
