Sunday February 10, 2013

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. (AP) -- The Saratoga County Sheriff's office says three young men are accused of drilling into the gas tanks of at least 20 vehicles and siphoning off fuel for themselves and their friends.

Charged Saturday were 21-year-old Morgan Sharadin, and 18-year-olds Zachary Currier and Owen Gary. They were all charged with felony criminal mischief and grand larceny.

The thefts occurred last month in five towns, the village of Ballston Spa, and Saratoga Springs.

The three were arraigned in the Town of Ballston Court and sent to jail after failing to post bail.

Officials continue to investigate and say there may be more arrests.
