Police: Trooper injured after car hits his cruiser


SOMERSET, MASS. >> Massachusetts state police say a trooper on patrol was injured after his cruiser was struck by a car.

It happened shortly before 10 a.m. Monday in Somerset. Police say a Fall River man drove through a traffic light and struck the driver's side of the trooper's vehicle.

The trooper was treated for minor injuries and released. The driver was not hurt.

Police say no charges have been filed as of Monday. The incident remains under investigation.
