Praise to Bannon for O'Donnell vote

Although it is unfortunate that Kevin O’Donnell’s contract will be expiring in April, I extend applause to Select Board Chairman Stephen Bannon who stood his ground in voting to retain Mr. O’Donnell as town manager. Expressing an unpopular opinion in the face of opposition is a courageous act; if only it could be found more in other sectors of government.

I was reading John Sakata’s recent Eagle article on the town’s search for a new town manager, and I must agree that it is very poor timing to shift the town’s administration, especially with the Main Street reconstruction project. It’s my hope that the transition will go smoothly.
