Professional wrestling card coming to Wahconah Park this summer
PITTSFIELD — A busy summer at Wahconah Park just got a little busier.
A professional wrestling card will be coming to the venerable ballpark on Wahconah Street. Northeast Wrestling and the Pittsfield Suns will team up to present "Wrestling Under the Stars" tour. The local stop will take place at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 26, long after the Suns have thrown their final pitch.
"We are very excited to welcome wrestling back to Pittsfield and are looking forward to an amazing show," Suns general manager Kristen Huss said in a press release.
According to the release, WWE Hall of Fame wrestlers Mick Foley and Jerry "The King" Lawler will be in attendance, along with Matt and Jeff Hardy.
There are seven matches scheduled for the event. Prior to the event, there will be a special meet and greet session with the wrestlers, which will start at 4:30 p.m.
Tickets start at $15, and are available at www.northeastwrestling.com, www.pittsfieldsuns.com, or will be available at the Wahconah Park box office when the team opens their park offices later this spring.
