Proud tradition of fixing things

Posted
Sunday April 28, 2013

A broken lamp. Toaster not working. Braided rug needing some stitching. An old picture frame with loose glass. Things headed for a dumpster or landfill? Nope -- items I saw fixed for free at the Pittsfield Third Saturday Repair Cafe. I also saw dedicated fix-it volunteers and lots of happy folks heading home, having saved money, been part of helping others and with their once again useful items.

The next Repair Cafe is Saturday, May 18, 1-5 p.m., St. Stephen’s church basement, Pittsfield.
