Quebec teams win titles at North Adams youth hockey tourney; Braves U-18 team goes 3-1

NORTH ADAMS -- The Berkshire Braves' under-18 hockey team finished the weekend 3-1 at the Battle In the Berkshires tournament at the Peter W. Foote Vietnam Veterans Memorial Skating Rink.

The Braves defeated the Wallingford Hawks of Philadelphia 5-3 in a Sunday morning game. David Senecal had a hat trick for the Braves in the win, and Joe Stasiowski and Mike Bloom added goals for the winners.

The Braves' U-16 team went 1-2 this weekend, earning a win over the Dix Hills, N.Y., Hawks.

Both tournament championships headed north of the border to équipes de hockey de Québec -- that is, to Quebec teams.

The College Ste.-Anne de Lachine Dragons won the U-18 division championship, defeating the Hatfield (Pa.) Ice Dogs 3-1 in the final. In the U-16 division, the College-Jean-Eudes team from Montreal won the championship by defeating the Levis Commandeurs 2-0 in the final.
