Four Freedoms forums: Norman Rockwell Museum's Four Freedoms Forums series of town hall meetings returns on Thursday, starting at 5:30 p.m., with a look at the topic of gun violence.
The forum will address the role of guns in our society, including gun rights and gun control. Featured speakers will include Stockbridge Police Chief Richard B. Wilcox, and Brian MacQuarrie, reporter for The Boston Globe.
Upcoming Four Freedoms Forums include: "Youth, Identity and the Media" (July 25); "A Nation Divided: Getting Past the Impasse" (Nov. 15) and "Social Media: Agent for Change or Flash in the Pan?" (Jan. 23, 2014).
Forums are free and open to the public. They begin at 5:30 p.m. at the museum, Route 183, Stockbridge. Information: www.nrm.org.
Get BART Smart: Berkshire Arts & Technology Charter Public School will hold its annual fundraiser, Get BART Smart, from 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, at the school, 1 Commercial St., Adams.
The event pits teams of four to six people against one another in battles of trivia based on math, literature and SAT questions. Teams follow a revised school-day schedule and travel from classroom to classroom throughout the evening.
The winning team at the end of the night will be crowned "Valedictorian" and will receive prizes.
The event serves as the primary fundraiser for BART. Participants are asked to donate a minimum of $65 per person, which includes a light dinner by Mezze Catering and a selection of beer and wine. Companies are invited to sponsor the event.
Healthy Kids Day: On Saturday, the Pittsfield Family YMCA is celebrating YMCA's Healthy Kids Day with a free community event that encourages kids to get moving and learning, and families living healthier.
The program will run from noon to 3 p.m. at the Y, 292 North St. in Pittsfield and will feature fun, active play and educational activities, such as gymnastics, swim, and family Zumba and yoga, reading time with local author Ty Allan Jackson, scavenger hunt and information booths.
Representatives from the Junior League of Berkshire County also will be handing out bookmarks and Berkshire Health Systems will be signing up blood donors for a blood drive at the YMCA on April 30.

MCLA info session: Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' will offer an informational session from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday for those interested in transferring to MCLA from another college. The session will be held in Murdock Hall room 218, on the MCLA campus, 75 Church St., North Adams.
The program will include an presenters, campus tours, admission and financial aid information, as well as academic advising and transfer credit evaluations. Bring your transcript.
