DINE WITH SANTA >> The Boys and Girls Club of the Berkshires will host from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday a spaghetti dinner with Santa to benefit the club's Gators Youth Swim Team. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 children. The dinner will be held in the club at 16 Melville St., in Pittsfield.

STONE COURT WRITER RESIDENCY >> The Berkshire Waldorf High School will host two upcoming events with its fall Stone Court Writer-in-Residence, Pankaj Challa, Ph.D., who is currently working on a novel and a collection of short stories based on his dissertation called, "The Happiness of Wandering Beings," about love, livelihood and identity in the "New India."

Challa's students will read from their class works at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, at the school, 14 Pine St., Stockbridge. Challa will read from his own work at 3 p.m. on Sunday at The Mount, Edith Wharton's home, 2 Plunkett St., in Lenox. Both events are free and open to the public. 'NIGHT AT THE MOVIES' >> The Pittsfield High School Orchestra at 6 p.m. on Tuesday will host a concert, "Night at the Movies," in the PHS auditorium. The event will feature songs from popular movies ranging from "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" to "Les Miserables" to "Ratatouille" and more, as student art work inspired by the films will be digitally projected above the orchestra. The concert is free and open to the public but donations will be accepted to benefit the ensemble's upcoming New York City trip to the Orchestra Cup.

'ALMOST, MAINE' >> Pittsfield High School's Proteus Theatre presents John Cariani's romantic comedy "Almost, Maine," this week. Shows will be at 7 p.m. on Thursday and Friday, and at 2 and 7 p.m. on Saturday. A winter's tale that takes place in the town of "Almost," residents find themselves falling in and out of love in the strangest ways, as the Northern Lights hover in the sky above. Tickets are $8 for students and $10 for adults, and can be reserved by calling 413-499-9535.

'EMPTY BOWLS DINNER' >> Wahconah Regional High School's chapter of the National Honor Society will be hosting from 6 to 8 p.m. on Saturday an Empty Bowls Dinner to raise awareness for and help to alleviate hunger in the community. The event, which will feature soups and a presentation, will be held at the First Congregational Church, 514 Main St., Dalton. Tickets are $15 per person and $25 per family. Info: 413-684-1330.
