WORKSHOPS WITH THE JUNKMAN >> This Saturday, between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., and between 12:30 and 5 p.m. on Sunday, the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield will offer "Junk Music," an activity series with The Junkman, who creates instruments with recycled materials. All programs are included with regular museum admission as part of the "Ten Days of Play" 10x10 Upstreet Arts Festival. For the full schedule, visit berkshiremuseum.org. ARBOR DAY POSTER CONTEST >> The state Department of Conservation and Recreation invites fifth-graders to participate in its 2016 Arbor Day Poster Contest: "Trees Grow with Us and for Us." First place prizes include a tree planting ceremony at the winner's school, a certificate for art and science supplies, and more. Runners up will also receive art and science supplies. Activities include games, sports, pool time (bring a swimsuit) and pizza. Cost is $5 per youth; financial assistance is available.
