DUPONT SCIENCE CHALLENGE >> Students in kindergarten through grade 12 across the United States, Canada, and U.S. territories are eligible to enter the 2016 DuPont Challenge Science Essay Competition. More than $50,000 in awards are available. There are three levels of competition: Elementary Division (K-5), Junior Division (grades 6-8) and Senior Division (grades 9-12). Essays must address either the theme of addressing world hunger, secure energy, environmental protection, or innovation.

Junior and Senior division entries are due Jan. 31. Elementary entries are due March 1. Enter at thechallenge.dupont.com.

KID INVENTORS' DAY >> Spark!Lab at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield will be open from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday to celebrate Kid Inventors' Day. Learn about notable kid inventors and take part in the launch of the 2016 global Spark!Lab Invent It Challenge. Participants ages 5 to 21 are encouraged to identify a real world problem and come up with an invention to solve it. 'LIVING HISTORY SERIES' >> The Norman Rockwell Museum at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday will host "An Evening in the Classroom with Illustrator Harvey Dunn" as part of its Living History Series in Stockbridge. Step into the Museum's current exhibition, "Masters of the Golden Age: Harvey Dunn and His Students," and meet illustrator Harvey Dunn, as portrayed by painter/interpreter Dan Howe.
