Dancers age 12 and up can register through Friday for the Berkshire County D.R.E.A.M. (Dance Rules Everything Around Me) Ring Dance Competition, to be held from 6 to 9:30 p.m., Friday, July 22, at the Berkshire Museum in Pittsfield. The museum is sponsoring the event with Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival and is bringing Brooklyn-based Flex dance pioneer Reggie "Regg Roc" Gray to emcee the all-styles street dance competition. Dancers must submit a video application and an online form available at https://goo.gl/Ns8ouv. Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts' Office of Admission will hold from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, an information session and tours of the campus, beginning at Murdock Hall, room 218, on the MCLA campus on Church Street in North Adams. Students who are interested in transferring to MCLA should bring copies of transcripts from their previous institutions for an evaluation, which will expedite the admission process. The Williamstown Rural Lands Foundation's monthly guided hike series continues at 9:30 a.m. next Tuesday, July 19, starting at Sheep Hill on Route 7, and heading on to Stone Hill. Participants should dress for the weather and bring water, snacks, sunscreen, hats, and insect repellent. Sturdy shoes that can get wet or muddy are recommended. Info: 413-458-2494

"Spirit Houses & Woodland Wonders," debuts this Saturday and Sunday at Hancock Shaker Village, 1843 West Housatonic St., Pittsfield. Visitors can build a spirit or fairy house inspired by the house-like sculptures of artist Robert Hite, currently on view throughout the historic village. They can also do art activities, sing, dance, hear music and see a farm animal parade between 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., each day. The activities are included with regular admission. "Food Adventures" is enrolling youths ages 6-12 into its summer programs teaching basic cooking skills and nutrition. St. Helena's Parish in Lenox will host a session from July 25-29, and Berkshire Community College in Pittsfield will host a session Aug. 1-5.
