Roundup: Hoosac Valley golf team beats Monument Mountain
Derek Alibozek shot a 42 at Wyantenuck Country Club to earn medalist honors as the Hurricanes knocked off host Monument Mountain 175-206.
All four of Hoosac's scoring golfers finished within three strokes of each other. Henry Sniezek and Hayden Grimes both shot 44 and Luc Trombley had a 45.

ADAMS — Ryan Baran and Nash Morin each won 4-0 over their respective Pope Francis opposites, but the Cardinals carried the other four matches to win at Forest Park Country Club.
Max Cocchi and Tyler Wilson tied for medalist honors for Pope Francis, with each shooting a 5-over par 39. Cole Kratz shot a 40 for the Hornets.

LENOX — Zach Suffish had his first two-goal game of the season as the Millionaires rolled to a win.
It was a "nice chance to mix things up, looking at different formations," Lenox coach Matt Cote wrote in an email.
Suffish scored his first goal in the 28th minute and got his second goal in the 52nd minute.
Jacob Munch had four saves to record the shutout for Lenox.

McCann (8-2-3) got a pair of goals from Ryan Charon in the win, and Josh Fare and Mike Wojtaszek each had a goal and an assist.
Devon Griswold stopped five shots for McCann.

CHESHIRE — Four minutes into the contest, Hoosac's Shaleigh Levesque got on the board. It was, however, the only goal of the game for the Hurricanes.
They held a tenuous 1-0 lead until the 73rd minute, when Belchertown's Sonia Dugger scored to tie the game.
"Both teams had strong offensive chances. We hit the post, but could not get the game winner in," Hoosac coach Kathy Budaj wrote in an email. "We have been working on certain aspects of the game and I was happy to see that we are moving in the right direction."

DALTON — Lenox scored the four-set win, but it was a true nail biter. The set scores were 25-20, 26-24, 24-26 and 25-23.
For Lenox, Morgan Levesque had an astounding 44 assists to go with seven digs and two aces. The Millionaires' Kayanna Black had 16 kills and four blocks, while BomBee Lahart had 11 kills, an ace and three digs.
For Wahconah, Fran Gigliotti had 30 assists, four blocks and two kills. Emma Parkington had 31 digs, 19 kills and four blocks, while Jess Warren had 38 digs, two kills and six aces.
MCLA men's soccer
NORTH ADAMS — Two goals by Andrew Nygard helped MCLA beat Fitchburg State 3-1, and end a two-game losing streak.
Nygard scored his first goal at 33:08, when he controlled a loose ball after a corner kick. The sophomore from Gansevoort, N.Y., broke the tie in the 73rd minute. He flicked home a pass from Romeo Gray.
Former Hoosac Valley player Khalil Kareh scored an insurance goal with 3:48 left. MCLA (4-9, 2-3 in MASCAC) got a solid goalkeeping performance from Kamron Anderson, who made two saves. Alex Al-Zaibak had six saves for Fitchburg (4-6-2, 0-4-1).
