Roundup: MCLA women's basketball team hammers SVC
The Trailblazers held to Mountaineers to just five points in the first half. Southern Vermont shot 23 percent from the field and turned the ball over 28 times. MCLA's largest lead was 42 points. Samantha Gawron, Emily Moulton and Courtney Pingelski had 10 points each.
The 'Blazers will try to extend their win streak to three on Tuesday at home against Keene State at 6 p.m.
Williams 4, Tufts 2
MALDEN — Consistent offense helped the Williams men hold off late-charging Tufts and secure the win.
Marcus Mollica's goal 1 minute, 28 seconds into the third period put Williams up 4-0. Tufts scored two straight third-period goals, but Williams' lead was too much to overcome. Four different Ephs (4-0, 3-0) scored against the Jumbos (1-4-1, 0-2-1). Stephen Morrissey made 30 saves for Williams.
Williams' road trip continues, today against Connecticut College at 3 p.m.
Williams 2, Wesleyan 2
MIDDLETOWN, Conn. — Caroline Seibold's second-period power-play goal secured a tie for Wesleyan (2-3-1, 0-0-1) in this Little Three overtime matchup against Williams (2-2-1, 0-2-1).
Avery Dunn started the scoring for Williams in the first period. Kendall Carr answered for the Cardinals 36 seconds later. Olivia Stokes put the Ephs back on top, before Seibold netted the equalizer.
Williams will complete its back-to-back with the Cardinals today at 3 p.m.
