Roundup: MCLA's Hotaling earns MASCAC weekly honors

NORTH ADAMS — On Monday, the MASCAC named MCLA junior Kayla Hotaling as the player of the week after she led the Trailblazers to a trio of victories.

Hotaling averaged 13.3 points, 10.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists and 3.7 blocks during the 3-0 week for MCLA.

She finished with a double double effort of 14 points, 15 rebounds, 4 assists, 4 blocks, and 3 steals in a win over Utica last Wednesday. She added another double double of 11 points, 11 rebounds, and 5 blocked shots in Saturday's win over Simmons. The forward started the week by collecting a career high six assists along with 15 points in a win over Lasell.

Hotaling has been at the forefront of MCLA's six-game winning streak, reaching double figures in every game during the run.

MCLA is back in action on Wednesday at home against Mount Holyoke.

Kostolansky a Co-NESCAC Performer of the Week

In Williamstown, Williams College sophomore Tim Kostolansky was named the Co-NESCAC Performer of the Week in men's swimming and diving along with Tufts' Brandon Jinn.

Kostolansky is a multi-event competitor for Williams, with a specialization in the backstroke, butterfly and the individual medley.

In a meet at Division I Boston College, Kostolansky posted several strong efforts, posting three top four finishes against the Eagles.

He recorded a time of 1:55.52 to finish second in the 200 individual medley. Finished third in the 100 fly (51.79) and was clocked at 51.05 in the 100 backstroke, which placed him fourth.
