Sandisfield election to feature two-way contest for Select Board, ballot question


SANDISFIELD >> A race for the Select Board and a ballot question highlight Monday's town election.

Polls are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the old Town Hall, 3 Silverbrook Road.

The race for a three-year term on the Select Board will feature incumbent Alice B. Boyd facing newcomer Bethany Perry, who also is running unopposed as assessor.

Two separate ballot questions will ask voters to convert the positions of tax collector and treasurer from elected to appointed positions.

Other incumbents running unopposed include Moderator Jean Atwater-Williams, Auditor Ralph Morrison, School Committee member John Skrip; Board of Health member Kim Spring; Planner Robert O'Brien, Jr. and Library Trustee Kathleen Burrows.

Newcomer Lisa Leavenworth is seeking a three-year post as tax collector.
