Saturday’s colleges: MCLA basketball teams split doublheader with Worcester
WORCESTER -- The MCLA women’s basketball team dropped a 70-67 decision to Worcester State on Saturday afternoon, falling to 4-9 overall and 0-2 in the MASCAC.
Worcester State led 37-30 at halftime.
Courtney Durivage led the Trailblazers with 12 points off the bench, while Ashley Clawson and Kaitlyn Chenevert each had 10.
MCLA men earn conference victory
The MCLA men, led by Jeremic Bennett’s 19 points and seven rebounds, snapped a nine-game losing streak, beating Worcester State 83-77. MCLA is now 3-10, 1-1 in the MASCAC.
Hockey: Ephmen lose in overtime
PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- Alex Power scored a goal four minutes into overtime to give host Johnson and Wales a 3-2 win over Williams College on Saturday afternoon.
Trailing 1-0 after a period, the Ephmen scored a pair of second half goals to take the lead. Frankie Mork, assisted by David Jarrett and Craig Kitlo, scored at the 11:57 mark of the second period. Three minutes later, the Ephs took the lead on a goal by Kitlo, assisted by Mork and Zander Mascucci.
But the host team tied the game midway through the final period.
Williams is now 8-2-2.
