Search continues for missing Brown student

Updated version of this story

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) - The search continues for a missing Brown University student who hasn't been heard from since March 15.

Sunil Tripathi's (suh'-NEEL tri-PAH'-theez) sister, Sangeeta (san-GEE'-tah), says Monday that supporters are checking coffee shops, train stations, hospitals and morgues and walking the rivers at low tide in hopes of finding her brother.

Tripathi, known as "Sunny," is on leave from the Ivy League school, but was living in an apartment in Providence with some classmates. He is originally from Bryn Mawr, Pa.

Sangeeta Tripathi says her brother had been acting normally before he disappeared. She says he left his wallet and cellphone in his apartment, as well as a short, vague and inconclusive note.

The FBI is aiding in the search, which has now expanded to Boston, Connecticut, New York and Philadelphia.
