Search for 12-year-old boy ends at his Springfield home

SPRINGFIELD, MASS. >> A 12-year-old boy who ran away from his western Massachusetts school has been found safe at home after a 90-minute police search.

The Republican of Springfield reports the F
. Robert Strzempek says the boy had been acting up on the bus and was brought back to the school at about 3:50 p.m. before he stormed off.

Police searched the 736-acre Forest Park and its surrounding area to no avail.

A staff member at the Children's Study Home, where the boy lives, saw him and picked him up without notifying police that he was found.
