Selectman joins VIM Berkshires

NEW MARLBOROUGH — Local activist Michele Shalaby, a member of the New Marlborough Board of Selectmen, has been named human resources/volunteer manager by Volunteers in Medicine Berkshires. She replaces Susan Minnich, who will retire in December following 14 years at VIM.A native of Indiana, Shalaby holds an MBA from Loyola University of Chicago. She has a diverse business background, including ownership of a management and technical consulting firm. She has lived in the Berkshires for nine years and joined the New Marlborough Board of Selectmen five years ago.Shalaby has two children in high school in the Southern Berkshire Regional School District and enjoys her role as theatre costumer for school productions. She is also a nature lover who walks, hikes and skis.
