The Cantilena Chamber Choir and the Mount Everett High School Choir and Madrigal Singers will present a concert of Monteverdi Madrigals at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 15, at the Thomas Consolati Performing Arts Center at Mount Everett, Berkshire School Road.

The concert is a culmination of a choral workshop on Monteverdi that occurs at the school during the week of Feb. 11 with participants from all ensembles.

The students will rehearse and perform with the Cantilena Chamber Choir under the direction of Andrea Goodman, and perform a few Madrigals under their director Chris Clark.

Also on the program will be the Fire Songs of contemporary composer Morten Lauridsen and love songs with texts from Italian Renaissance poetry frequently set by Monteverdi and other composers of the time.

Donations will be accepted at the door before the performance.
