The Town of Sheffield’s Commission on Disabilities will host its next Speakers Series at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 18, at the Sheffield Senior Center, 25 Cook Road, as part of the center’s Third Thursday Luncheon.

This informational, hands-on event will explore services, resources, adaptive aids and equipment that are available to people who are deaf or hard of hearing.

There is no charge, and no reservations are needed to attend the presentation.

Speakers include Carole Rossick from the Massachusetts Commission for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and Dawn Matthews from the United Cerebral Palsy Association. Both a sign language interpreter and CART (Communication Access Realtime Translation) will be provided during the presentation.

All are welcome to attend the preceding luncheon that begins at noon and costs $5. Call the Senior Center at (413) 229-7037 to reserve a spot for lunch.

Questions about the Speaker Series may be directed to Laura Grunfeld (413) 717-0183.
