Sheffield voters approve articles on solar energy, Council on Aging

SHEFFIELD — Voters on Monday quickly approved three warrant articles dealing with solar energy and the Council on Aging.

"It was pretty much three up and three down," said Town Clerk Felecie Joyce.

A total of 61 of the town's 2,314 registered voters, or 0.2 percent, participated in the 20 minute special town meeting.

Voters approved a tax schedule for Solar MA Power Management LLC. The company is planning a 2 megawatt solar array on property on Home Road.

Voters also approved shrinking the town's Council on Aging from 11 members to nine and raising $2,500 from available funds for the COA account.
