PITTSFIELD — Visiting Monument had the better of the play in the first 40 minutes, according to Taconic coach Shaun Stannard, but the Spartans led only 1-0.
Goals by Henry Rauscher at 49 minutes and Nate Lacombe at 50 minutes seemed to break the Braves' spirit.
"Right after they scored the first in the second half, we got deflated," said Stannard. "We didn't respond well."
