Softball roundup: Hoosac Valley books spot in postseason with win over Lee
ADAMS — Kali Puppolo struck out 11, walked none and scattered five hits, giving Hoosac Valley a 6-1 win over Lee. The win qualifies the Hurricanes (9-4) for the Western Mass. tournament.
The 'Canes scored three times in the first inning, providing more than enough run support for Puppolo. Abby Jamros had two hits and an RBI. Sienna Witherall had an RBI double in the first.
"[Puppolo's] changeup was working well," Hoosac coach Mike Ameen said. "She had a good riseball and all her pitches were working."

Pierce struck out nine and walked only one. Britney Perkett, Erin Murphy, Emily Koldys and Abby Santos all went deep. Murphy went 3 for 4 with a RBI. Hayley Tobin went 3 for 5 with two RBI. Santos and Pierce had three hits each.

Morgan Levesque led Lenox with four hits. Hannah Sibley had three hits and three RBI. Riley Burke, Kasey Valle, Myah House and Kate Arace had two hits each. Anna Lynch earned the win. She struck out six in five innings.
