Softball roundup: Taconic wins second straight with decision over Frontier
PITTSFIELD — Taconic made it two wins in two games with a 5-2 decision over Frontier on Thursday.
Chloe Wood went 3 for 4 in the win, recording a double and driving in three of the Braves' runs. Ashley Keegan again contributed in the circle and at the dish, going the distance for the win while striking out 11, and going 2 for 3 with a double and an RBI at the plate. Aubrey Lazits drove in the other run, going 1 for 3.
"I'm really happy, really happy for them," Taconic coach Kevin Harrington said. "Ashley pitched a great game ... she did a great job in some tough situations getting the out.
"Chloe Wood, she had a great day at the plate and really stepped it up offensively."

LEE >> Emily Koldys pitched a 2-hitter and struck out eight, while visiting Pittsfield had 12 hits in the win over the Wildcats.
Koldys, Giuliana Pierce and Erin Murphy all had two hits each in the game for Pittsfield.

MCCANN TECH 8, SABIS 3
SPRINGFIELD >> The McCann Tech softball team picked up a win over Sabis on Thursday.
The Hornets (2-0) were led by Cheyenne Alcombright, who went 3 for 3 at the plate with a triple, a double and a single to go with two RBI. Taylor Sprague added a solo home run and an RBI double, and Haley Malloy hit a two-run single for McCann.
Meghan Goyette went the distance in the circle to get the win, striking out 10 on just four hits. For Sabis, Jade Ficarra took the loss, striking out four on four walks and nine hits.

DRURY 14, LENOX 3
LENOX >> Visiting Drury jumped out to a 3-0 lead after one inning, and after three had established a commanding 12-0 lead.
Drury starter Maya Howland gave up two runs in four innings but allowed only one hit. Molly Moulton finished up and did not allow a hit.
Cassie Crosier had four of Drury's 15 hits.

MOUNT GREYLOCK 29, MONUMENT MOUNTAIN 6
GREAT BARRINGTON >> Rachel Voller and Carly Munzer led Mount Greylock to a commanding win over Monument Mountain. Voller went 5 for 5. Munzer went 4 for 5 with a double and a home run. Kayla Ceveira also added a home run and a double. Alexa Troiano led Monument with three hits, including a triple. Maria Tucker had two hits. Fiona Kelly earned the win for Greylock. Troiano took the loss.
