South Egremont Post Office reopens after car crash


EGREMONT— The South Egremont Post Office has reopened.

Christine Dugas, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Postal Service, reported on Thursday that the building has been reopened and mail will be available.

Dugas said the USPS may be carrying out repairs to the building at a later date.

The facility was temporarily shut down after an accident on Tuesday night at 7 p.m.. An elderly driver crqahsed a car into the front of the building.

On Wednesday, mail for Egremont customers was forwarded to the Great Barrington Post Office. But Dugas said Egremont residents' mail will be back in South Egremont as of Thursday.
