Spartans erupt to beat THS

Tuesday September 25, 2012

PITTSFIELD -- Taconic scored first in its boys soccer game with Monument Mountain on Monday afternoon. The Spartans, however, got the last word.

Nick Masiero scored twice in the second half to break a 1-1 tie and lead the Spartans to the win.

Taconic scored first in the 37th minute thanks to Dominic Nda before Eitan Kiin equalized for Monument a minute later. Braves coach Mark Wasnewsky said his team just couldn't keep pace. Taconic had just two bench players.

"We kind of hang with teams but I think the fatigue gets us after a while," Wasnewsky said.
