Special couple celebrates 65th

Saturday September 15, 2012

It turns out that on Sept. 12, 1947, a pretty remarkable event occurred. It was not such an extraordinary occasion at that time. Two young people vowed to love, honor and obey until "death do us part." However, now, so many years later, they are celebrating the 65th anniversary of their life together.

It is not going to make the front page of People magazine, although wouldn’t it be nice to read about the story of their life together rather than the breakup of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes?

You may know this special couple. They are our Mom and Dad, Phyllis and Bill Kudlate. Our Dad has been know to pen a letter or two to the editor of The Eagle and both Mom and Dad are active in the community. They are an inspiration to their children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and the many people who have come to know them over the years. If you should happen to cross their path in your travels, we are certain they would be pleased to accept your congratulations.

Happy 65th wedding anni versary Mom and Dad. We don’t know how any of us can begin to compete with your accomplishments and the standards that you have set for us in your marriage.
