Becket police referred all questions to Environmental Police.
The Bonny Rigg campground website indicates that public camping is available May through October and ATV riding is authorized year-round.
When reached by phone Thursday night, the campground's manager, Bonny Rigg, said that the victim owned a site on the campground but declined to identify him, as the man's family had not yet been notified.
"It was an unfortunate incident," Rigg said.
