Springfield man gets 3 years for having child pornography

SPRINGFIELD >> A Springfield man who pleaded guilty to possessing child pornography and failing to register as a sex offender is headed to prison.

Fifty-four-year-old Jeffrey Duncan was sentenced Wednesday in Springfield to three years in state prison.

Duncan was arrested last June by state and local police after Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey's office received information about an email account that was receiving child pornography.

Police began an investigation and linked the account to Duncan. Investigators say a search of Duncan's home found several devices that revealed images of child pornography.

The state Sex Offender Registry Board lists Duncan as a sex offender based on an Indiana conviction in 2009 for possessing child pornography.
