Springside Park cleanup slated April 26

PITTSFIELD -- The Friends of Springside Park this year will celebrate a quarter century of coordinating a major clean up of the city's largest park each spring for Earth Day.

The annual comprehensive clean up of litter, dumping and small improvement projects throughout the 260-acre park will be held on Saturday, April 26, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. This year, the project is supported by the recently formed Springside Park Conservancy, an umbrella coalition of local organizations involved in programs, preservation and improvement at the park, and will have additional assistance by students from neighboring Reid Middle School and other local youth coordinated by the Berkshire Community Action Council.
