State approves Eversource Energy's winter supply charge
PITTSFIELD — The state Department of Public Utilities has approved Eversource Energy's winter Basic Service supply charge of 10.394 cents per kilowatt hour, which is nearly four cents less than last winter's rate.
The new rate goes into effect Jan. 1 and will last six months. It will result in a reduction of 16 percent on the average residential customer's bill. The new rate is 27 percent lower than last year's winter rate.
