SteepleCats fall to Mountaineers

MONTPELIER, Vt. -- The North Adams SteepleCats twice had leads against host Vermont on Tuesday night, but twice squandered those leads.

The second one was the most painful for the SteepleCats as Vermont's Thomas Roulis hit a two-run double off of North Adams reliever Dominic Severino in the bottom of the sixth inning and the Mountaineers came away with an 8-5 win.

The SteepleCats actually outhit the Mountaineers 10-8, but were shut out by Vermont reliever David Rosenberger over the last 31 3 innings.

North Adams took a 5-4 lead in the top of the sixth on RBI singles by Vinny Zarrillo and Jacob Huckabay. But the SteepleCats couldn't maintain the lead.

North Adams got a home run from Julian Lorat de Mola, his first of the season. Brad Anderson and Huckabay had two hits each for the Cats.

Kyle Driscoll started for North Adams and was touched up for four earned runs on three hits in 22 3 innings.
