Stephentown, N.Y.: Covered bridges are subject of illustrated lecture

Lloyd Schliesser will give an illustrated talk on covered bridges at the Stephentown Historical Society meeting at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, April 1, at the Stephentown Heritage Center on Garfield Road. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Schliesser, of Poestenkill, has been studying and photographing covered bridges for many years. He is interested in the design and uniqueness of each bridge, and will tell about the architecture and history of these structures, which originated in the Alpine region of Europe. He displays some of his photographs and information on his website, lloydsbridges.com.
