Stockbridge: Chorus begins rehearsals for spring concert

The Stockbridge Festival Chorus will start up rehearsals at 1 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 26, to begin preparing for its annual spring concert, which will be held Saturday, April 26.

All Sunday rehearsals are held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Congregational Church on Main Street.

The 65-voice choir is comprised of local amateur singers from the greater Berkshire community. It is conducted by Tracy Wilson and Lee Dixon is the rehearsal accompanist.

The spring concert will be an all American program of works by Aaron Copland, Mack Wilberg, Randall Thompson, Alice Parker, and Leonard Bernstein.

Music will be provided at the first rehearsals. Fee is $30 per person. New singers do not need to call ahead to register, and last day for any singer to register is Sunday, Feb. 16.

Singers may not miss more than three Sunday rehearsals, nor the dress rehearsal which is set for Friday, April 25. No auditions are necessary.
